Prof. Rose Jepchumba Kosgei is a dedicated Obstetrician/Gynecologist and Gynecologic Oncologist, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Nairobi’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Prof. Kosgei currently serves as the Coordinator of the Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program within the Department

With a reputation as a diligent researcher, Prof. Kosgei’s primary focus revolves around harnessing routinely collected program data to inform evidence-based decision-making and drive policy transformations. She has over 100 peer reviewed publications and has offered support and leadership in developing standard operating procedures, guidelines, and policies for the Ministry of Health.

Her academic achievements include a Ph.D. in Health Sciences from Ghent University, Belgium (2023), a Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship from the University of Nairobi, Kenya (2021), a Masters in Clinical Trials from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK (2012), and a Master’s in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya (2011). In addition, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Trials (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK, 2010), a Postgraduate Diploma in Biomedical Research Methodology (University of Nairobi, Kenya, 2009), an Operations Research Fellowship (Centre for Operational Research, International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, France, 2011), and a Fogarty Research Fellowship in HIV/AIDS in Women from Brown University, Providence, RI, USA (2009).
