RENEWAL NOTICE TO ALL HEALTH INSTITUTIONS FOR THE YEAR 2025

All health institutions registered by KMPDC are required by CAP 253, Laws of Kenya to renew their operating license annually within the stipulated period. Sec 15 of the Act stipulates that no premise shall be used as a health institution unless it is registered and licensed by the Council. Section 22 of the Act further criminalizes the use of an unlicensed premise as a health institution. It is therefore the responsibility of the directors of each health institution registered by KMPDC to ensure strict compliance with the Law. The Council wishes to inform you that the Internship Qualifying and Pre-Registration Council Examinations have been scheduled to take place as follows: - Monday, 16 th October 2023 - Briefing of Candidates Monday, 23 rd October 2023 - Written examinations Tuesday, 24 th October 2023 - Clinical Examinations Wednesday, 25 th October 2023 - Clinical Examinations You are hereby further notified that the deadline for the registration for the above exam shall be on, Wednesday 27 th September, 2023; at 5.00pm. Be advised that NO application for the October 2023 examination, shall be accepted after the deadline.

UNLICENSED MEDICAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONERS AND HEALTH FACILITIES 2023

The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council is a body corporate established under Section 3 of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act (CAP 253) with the mandate to regulate the training and practice of medicine, dentistry and community oral health within the Republic of Kenya. The Council is also mandated by CAP 253 to regulate health facilities within the country. Pursuant to this licensure requirement: • KMPDC has published a list of all unlicensed medical, dental practitioners and health facilities in the country. The list has also been shared with the National Police Service, insurance firms and other relevant authorities as it is an offence to practice without a license. Members of the public are advised to seek health services from practitioners and health facilities that are duly registered and licensed by KMPDC.

PUBLIC NOTICE ON MEDICAL CAMPS

The attention of the Council is drawn to the high number of medical camps being held across the country without the requisite authorization. We would like to draw your attention to the following as regards medical camps: • The Medical Practitioners and Dentist Act CAP 253 subsidiary legislation on Medical Camps (2016) stipulates that anyone intending to hold a medical camp should obtain a license from the Council. • Licensing of medical camps safeguards those obtaining treatment by ensuring that the medical/dental practitioners participating in the camps are registered and duly licensed to practice in Kenya. • Medical camp directors should ensure that their KMPDC camp license is displayed prominently during the duration of the camp. • Members of the public are urged to seek treatment only from medical camps registered and licensed by KMPDC. REGISTERED AND LICENSED HEALTH FACILITIES 2023

This is to inform the public that the Council has published the list of health facilities that are registered and licensed to operate in the country for the year 2023 at https://kmpdc.go.ke/Registers/MTreg/facilities.php . Health facility owners and administrators are reminded: i. That it is an offence to operate a health facility without a valid license. ii. To engage only licensed practitioners who work within their scope of practice. Members of the public are advised to seek treatment from health facilities that are registered and licensed to operate in 2023. The registration and licensing status of a health facility can also be verified through SMS by sending a message: H#Full Name of facility to 20547 OR H#Registration number of facility to 20547

PUBLICATION OF NAMES OF REGISTERED MEDICAL, DENTAL AND COMMUNITY ORAL HEALTH PRACTITIONERS 2023

Pursuant to Section 9(2) of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act, the public is hereby notified that the Registrar/CEO of the Council on 31 st March 2023 published a list containing the names, qualifications and registered addresses of all registered medical and dental practitioners. This list can be accessed at https://kmpdc.go.ke/Registers/ MTreg/master_reg.php. Medical and dental practitioners are advised to confirm their licensure status through the link. The 2023 registration and licensing status of medical, dental and Community Oral Health practitioners can also be verified through SMS by sending a message in this format: P#Full Name of practitioner to 20547 OR P#Registration number of practitioner to 20547
