ADDITIONAL MEASURES TO GUIDE THE RECOGNITION OF MEDICAL AND DENTAL SPECIALISTS AND SUBSPECIALISTS The Council further reminds practitioners that the KMPDC Guidelines on the Recognised Specialties and Subspecialties (Revised 2024) remain in force. Practitioners intending to pursue postgraduate training, particularly outside Kenya, are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the approved list of recognised specialties and subspecialties and the applicable requirements for specialist recognition before enrolling in any training programme.
BRIDGING QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION INTO MEDICAL, DENTAL AND COMMUNITY ORAL HEALTH TRAINING PROGRAMMES The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) wishes to inform prospective students, parents, sponsors, scholarship agencies and institutions offering Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Community Oral Health (COH) training programmes on the criteria for acceptance of bridging qualifications into these programmes. Prospective students and training institutions are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the approved requirements before admission or enrolment to ensure compliance with the Council's regulatory framework and to avoid inconveniences in registration upon completion of training.
REMINDER OF TRANSITION TO ONLINE ATTESTATION OF MEDICAL CERTIFICATE The Council wishes to clarify that medical certificate attestation is NOT required for all medical certificates, reports or clinical notes. Attestation is only applicable where verification by the Council is required as part of an application or process before another institution, employer, authority or other requesting body. The online attestation service is available through the Practitioner Portal and can only be accessed by licensed medical practitioners who are in good standing with the Council.
NOTICE OF TRANSITION TO ONLINE MEDICAL CERTIFICATE ATTESTATION SERVICES The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council wishes to inform all stakeholders that it is transitioning from the manual attestation of medical certificates to a fully online attestation system. The transition phase will run from 20th July to 31st July 2026, with full implementation taking effect on 3rd August 2026. TRANSITION TO ONLINE AMBULANCE REGISTRATION BY THE KENYA MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS AND DENTISTS COUNCIL The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) hereby informs all stakeholders and members of the public that registration of ambulances has now transitioned to an online system. Applicants are advised to initiate the process by visiting the online registration portal at: https://ems.kmpdc.go.ke/registration Application deadline: Friday 7th November 2025.
